Create a free accountMeetup Art is a UK-based community platform that connects artists, life models, organisers and tutors. Browse upcoming life drawing sessions, portrait classes and creative meetups, book a professional model, list your own art event, or post a paid modelling job — all in one place.
Yes — browsing events, models, groups and the gallery is completely free, and creating an account costs nothing. Organisers can list unlimited Zoom events on the Free plan, and paid Solo, Studio and Agency tiers cut the per-ticket platform fee to a low 2% and unlock additional tools for artists, groups and casting agencies.
A professional model poses, usually nude, while everyone draws. Sessions typically open with short warm-up poses of one to five minutes and build to longer poses of twenty minutes or more. Untutored drop-ins have no teaching and no critique — you simply draw. Tutored classes and courses include instruction. No experience is required and nobody looks at your work unless you invite them to. See our guide to your first class.
Search the events directory by location and distance, or start from a city page. Filter by event type — drop-in, course or online — to narrow the list. Each event shows the date, time, location, fee and a direct link to book.
Yes. Browse the model directory, view portfolio photos and session styles, then message a model directly to discuss dates, fees and bookings. Models on Meetup Art include life models, portrait sitters and figure models across the UK.
Rates are set by each hirer rather than fixed by the platform, and vary with location, session length and whether the work is for a private group, a school or a university. Live averages and the current range are computed from open job listings and published on the statistics page, with more detail in the pay guide.
Sign up for a free account, create your group or event, and your listings appear in the events directory and on your own public group page. Paid tiers add ticket sales without per-ticket platform fees, a public gallery and additional management tools.
No. Untutored drop-in sessions have no teaching, no critique and no standard to meet — people turn up at every level, from complete beginners to professionals, and work side by side. Nobody comments on your drawing unless you ask them to. If you’d rather be taught, book a tutored class or a course instead. Our first-class guide walks through the whole thing.
Usually, yes — an untutored life drawing session normally works from an undraped model, and that is the tradition the discipline is built on. It isn’t universal: clothed, costumed and portrait sessions are common, and every listing states which it is before you book. Models set their own boundaries about the work they accept, shown as styles on their profiles.
Prices are set by each organiser, not by Meetup Art. Across the sessions currently listed, the lowest price is £11 and the average is £11. Drop-in sessions are usually paid per session, while multi-week courses are booked as a block. Some groups also offer a concession rate for students and the unwaged. See live UK prices.
Yes. Online sessions run over Zoom with a live model, and work from anywhere with a connection — useful if nothing is running near you, if you’d rather start at home, or if travel is difficult. They’re listed alongside in-person sessions and marked as online.
Two separate things. A Meetup Art account requires you to be at least 13, as set out in our terms of service. Attendance at a session is set by the organiser running it, not by the platform — many sessions working from an undraped model are restricted to over-18s, while tutored and clothed sessions are often open to younger artists accompanied by an adult. The age policy is stated on each listing, and the organiser is the person to ask.
